One of the best-attended MANG Aero Holiday Parties took place on Sunday, December 5th. After a delicious meal served at the Atlantis restaurant the existing Board of Directors was confirmed by acclamation for another year, there being no other nominations for the positions. In addition to the elected officers, President Dave LaPointe reported that all the current appointed officers will continue to serve next year except for Chief Maintenance Officer Jim King, who will be replaced by Paul Fortino.
Dave reported that membership is full and we have two people on the waiting list. This past year we have had five new members and two former members returning to the club. Dave also offered the following statistics for the 2004 year:
Total flying time: 722 hours, as compared with 843 hours in 2003.
More than half the flights were between 1.0 hr and 1.9 hr in tach time duration.
There we a number of door prizes awarded at the Party:
Mackinac Island Mission Pointe weekend (donated by Beverly and Joe McEvoy):
Dino Dinatale suggested that everyone be reminded that our Club insurance does not cover landings on frozen lakes. So just because you see some guy with skiis on his ultralight land on the ice, don't think that you can do it too. Dangers lurk beneath that smooth-looking coating of snow, and our insurance will not cover you if you bend or break something.
