We will be meeting in the meeting room that is on your left on the main floor just as you come in from the East entrance.
Recently we have received club resignations from Al Hendra, George and Vi Daniel, and Glenn Harper. Paul Fortino and Jessica Patuano have joined as a new members.
Don't push on the spinners.
The C-172 front plate by the spinner has cracked (again!). Members are reminded not to push on the spinners when moving the planes by hand. Push on the prop near the hub instead.
Don't leave cell phones on.
You all know that using cell phones in flight is prohibited. But did you know that just having your cell phone turned on is just as bad? When your cell phone is on (able to receive calls), it is periodically transmitting on its own to the ground-based network so that the network knows which cell you are near, in case you do get a call. These automatic transmissions, when transmitted from the air, are just as disruptive to the cell phone network and just as prohibited. So before you take off, make sure your cell phone is really off.
Looking for Chief Maintenance Officer
Jim King plans to leave his position as Chief Maintenance Officer (and the club) at the end of his term in December. We need to find someone who can fill this important position, and the sooner the better. Finding a replacement early will permit valuable overlap time for Jim to show the new person the ropes.
We are developing a custom MANG checklist to replace the original one that has gone missing from the Warrior for several months. A prototype of such a checklist is now available for use in the plane. Please help us to refine the design of this checklist by looking at the one in the plane, or by reviewing the on-line version at:
Send comments to Bob Scott. If all goes well, we may consider replacing the checklists in the other two planes as well.
Dave Schrader has Charts and Headphones
MANG Aero member Dave Schrader is a dealer for NOS charts and for Telex headhpones. He has offered to pass on some price savings to other MANG members. See Dave for details.
