The four elected offices, President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, are up for election for 2006. The vote will be cast at the holiday party on December 4th. From now until then, nominations are open. You can nominate yourself, or you can nominate someone else. Contact any Board member if you would like to submit a nomination.
Several knobs are missing on the Archer and the overhead vent control knob may not work.
The trim on the Archer is stiff because of new cabling. It is expected to become less stiff with time.
John Solo estimates that the recovery company caused $12k to $14k of unnecessary damage to the Archer. The re-assembly bill now stands at $16k. Our insurance company specified this recovery company, but they refuse to pay for the additional damage.
At the General Membership Meeting, Steve Thornburg thanked Paul Fortino and Larry Millen for all their hard work in facilitating the return of the Archer to service
The September General Membership Meeting was held at the Plymouth Library. After the business portion of the meeting, Dr. Robert Gordon gave an interesting presentation on the ins and outs of getting and keeping an Aviation Medical Certificate.
The plans for the Holiday Party on Dec. 4th have been finalized. We will be returning to Atlantis in Livonia for a dinner, so mark your calendar.
