Pilot Reports - Places to Fly and Reasons Why
Steve Thornburg has started a list of flying destinations with restaurant reviews. Hopefully some of you will want to add to this list. The list will be maintained on a webpage with a link from our homepage (www.mangaero.org). Or you can look at it directly from here. Please forward your submissions to Steve Thornburg or Bob Scott. Right now the list features only restaurants, but there are plans to include museums, pilot shops (like Sporty's), and other attractions.
Corrections to Calendar of Events
We have been advertising inconsistent dates and days of the week for the meetings at the Plymouth Library. These inconsistencies have now been fixed. Note especially that the General Membership Meeting coming up next week is on Thursday, March 29th. And just to make sure no one is misled, the newsletters for the previous months (January and February) have been fixed too.
Interruptions at Lansing Flight Service
Dave Schrader has this message from Lansing Flight Service Station to pass along to all members: Lansing AFSS will close on Monday April 9, 2007 at 12:01 am for refurbishment and employee training on the new FS21 system. Re-opening is scheduled for May 21, 2007. During this closure, calls to 1-800-WX-BRIEF will be routed to the DCA hub. In the meantime, the automated answering system is already out of service in preparation for the changeover. If you need to file a fllight plan, continue to call 1-800-WX-BRIEF. You will hear only a ringing tone, but eventually a FSS briefer will answer. Stay on the line.
You can get more information on the FS21 upgrade from www.afss.com .
