Fuel Paperwork

Operations Officer Dale Thorsby reports that many members are not following the proper procedure to document their fueling operations.  So here is a summary of those procedures.

  1. When you get fuel from USA Jet (the self-serve pump nearest our hangars), use the white smartcard in the front of the book in the plane.  It bills MANG directly.

  2. Write down the number of gallons purchased in the appropriate column of the time sheets for the plane.  This is necessary help reconcile the bills we get from USA Jet, as well as help the next pilot check the fuel status of the plane.

  3. Save the printed receipt and put it in the box labelled "Fuel Receipts" in the Warrior hangar.  Do not leave them in the pouch in the front of the book.  If you do that, and if the plane happens to be out flying when our Treasurer, Joe McEvoy, stops by to pick up the receipts, then he will not be able to pick them up, and his trip from Farmington Hills would have been a waste.  If you see receipts that others have left in the pouch, then move them all to the "Fuel Receipts" box.

  4. If you buy fuel somewhere else and pay for it yourself, then write your name and the aircraft number along with the number of gallons on the receipt when you submit it to Joe for reimbursement.
