At the February Board Meeting, Treasurer Joe McEvoy presented his analysis of the costs of operating our three aircraft. Since most of that cost is fuel, and since fuel prices seem to have stabilized at their current higher level, he recommended that an increase of $5/hr for each of the planes is in order. You may recall that last year we kept up with fuel prices by establishing a month-by-month fuel surcharge. We hope to avoid the surcharge for now. Therefore, effective March 1st, flying time will be charged as follows:
Cessna and Warrior: $80 / hr.
Archer: $85 / hr.
The flying fees will be re-evaluated in six months.
Call for pictures for MANG website
We would like to add some appeal to our website by using some pictures. I know many of you have taken pictures at club functions, or on flights of your own. If you have any pictures of a plane wash, or pictures of you and your family at some far-away airport standing next to one of our planes, or even just the plane, please send them to Bob Scott at:
mangpics@yahoo.com
We want to make our website serve as not only a place to get the newsletter and club documents, but also a place where interested individuals can see how great our club is and want to join.
Write down amount of fuel on time sheet
Some of you are still forgetting to write down the amount of fuel purchased. Please make it part of your fueling routine to write down the number of gallons in your entry on the time sheet. We need this data to reconcile fuel bills from Jet USA and to issue reimbursement to members who purchase fuel away from Willow.
MANG General Membership Meeting coming up: March 22
Our first general membership meeting of the year will be held March 22nd at the Plymouth Library. This is your club, so take ownership of it and participate! The program after the business meeting is still up in the air, but the possibilities include a discussion of the new changes to the part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, a presentation on oxygen systems and hypoxia, and a engine-out video from John Keck. Whatever the program is, it will be worth your time.
Joe McEvoy has provided the following reports, which can be viewed from the MANG homepage:
