Thunder Over Michigan - air show at Willow Run

The Blue Angels are coming this year, so the air show at Willow Run this coming Saturday and Sunday (July 23-24) promises to be a big one! Although MANG Aero Club is not doing anything official as a club this weekend, it is possible to get access to our hangars if you would like to gather unoffically or just come yourself. The word is that coming in at Tyler Road will get you in. Come prepared to show your badge and just say you are going to your own hangar at the Birdcage.

Maintenance Corner

The alternator system on the Cessna failed in flight and it is being replaced. As of July 21st the electrical system is still being worked on. Check Schedulemaster for the latest status of the Cessna.

Just a reminder about the chalk boards that have been added to the hangars: They are not a replacement for calling maintenance. Some members still think that if they write down a maintenance problem then someone will come along and read their message and fix whatever it was they complained about. That is not how it works. The maintenance officers have lives of their own. They do not stop by the hangars every day to read squawk reports. If nothing is reported by phone or e-mail, then the hangar may go unvisited for many days. That could be a real bummer for the next guy who wants to fly and he comes to the airport and finds that a problem that could have been fixed if it had been reported was not fixed because it was only written down on the chalk board. So if you notice something that needs fixing please notify a maintenance officer directly.

Michigan Air Tour - you can participate!

Several members of the Board have pledged to donate up to three hours of MANG flight hours to anyone wishing to participate. We only ask the recipient of such a "scholarship fund" to promote MANG to others in the Tour. You can read more about the Michigan Air Tour by clicking here.
